I wanna see the World!

I have travel on my brain right now. We already have a week planned out to travel to Mexico (visit family) and a day trip to Catalina Island - BUT I WANT MORE! I want to see the world! Maybe not the whole world this year, but little pieces would be nice = )

I love San Francisco, we go every year, I'm thinking about there - although we are having San Francisco-ish weather down here in So Cal. And then of course there's the annual Vegas trip, I don't like to gamble but I like to walk the strip, EAT, and just sight see! San Diego is more of a drive for the day.
I think we need to start venturing out to other nearby states...maybe Arizona, Utah, Oregon? I definitely want to add Seattle, WA to the mix! Maybe that will be our next stop!

Any suggestions?!

One Step at a Time

Other bloggers begin the year by choosing one word to live by or follow for the rest of the year. I have read there blogs and seen how that has helped them achieve, act, respond, fulfill, LIVE, etc. their lives for, commonly, 1 year. I have considered this "practice" for myself a few times but never got around to actually doing it. Today, I have decided that I too will participate in this! Now in thinking of what one word to choose I thought it would be difficult, but in reality it wasn't. Well if I may add, it's actually a few words put together, but nonetheless it’s something to “live by”.

One Step at a Time

Why did I choose this? Well, I’m the type of person that THINKS I can do A LOT of things. I actually can because I’m very organized, dedicated, and creative. BUT I think my problem is that I want to do TOO MUCH at ONCE. I want to plan the party, cook the food, make the decorations, entertain, etc. And, well one person can’t do it all. To be more specific I start a lot of projects and don’t concentrate on completing one before I decide to start another. Hence, the need for “One step at a Time”. Of course there will be times when life comes at me and I need to juggle a few things at once, but such is life. I will not purposely take on more than one project at a time and definitely deal with things ONE AT A TIME!

Wish me luck and I’ll keep updates on this blog of my progress!

Just Go For It!!!

There are so many "things" that I've wanted to be. I can remember being asked "what do you want to be when you grow-up?". The first time I answered I was about 5 years old and in Kindergarten. I answered, "a doctor for babies". Wow, what an answer. My mother would be proud. Some time after that and in through high school I remember changing my answer to "a teacher", "a lawyer", "an actress", back to "a teacher", "a writer", and so on and so forth. I've always had ambition to be something, and like my interests, my "something" frequently changed. Even today I say I want to be a crafter, I want to start writing again, I want to be a photographer, I want to be a graphic designer, la la la.
I am simply so inspired by the people around me, in person, or even online, that are doing all the things they love! In them I have found a new motivation to not only continue wanting to be all those somethings, but actually BE all those somethings. Just go for it!

But I must credit that last final push to the inspiring words I read on Kate Inglis' blog. I will give myself permission to suck!!

November 30th

And here we are on November 30th. Time flies by doesn't it?! Thanksgiving is gone and soon it will be Christmas, in 25 days to be exact.
I haven't been up to much else except for waiting to hear news about "the house". To re-cap, we put in an offer on October 17th to compete against someone else. On October 20th we were told that our offer had been selected over the other! One little step. So now we would have to wait for the offer to be accepted, rejected, countered, or what ever else they can think of doing with it. Today, November 30th we were told that yesterday the lender sent in their people to appraise the property...so what does that mean? In approximately 3 weeks we will know if our offer was accepted or otherwise. Can't wait! As it will be around Christmas time, I will make that my one and only wish-list item! We will see what happens, if I will be calling this place home...

November 5th / 1st

I first started writing this November 1st that is why you see the odd title!

I cannot believe it is already November! Wasn't it just February as I chose my husband's Valentine's Day gift?!?! Well, this year has just flown by as I am sure that it has for many others out there. Now we have the upcoming holidays to think about and prepare for...Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, AHHHHH! And I must not forget the all important Veteran's Day!

As I started to think about the upcoming holidays I also couldn't help but think about all the proud men and women out there that are fighting for our freedom, and how so many of them will not be HOME to spend the holidays with their families. Whether you agree or disagree with the war that many of our countries are participating in, we all must feel pride and compassion for the military men and women out there. Remember them and the Veterans of past wars and military that have made our continued freedom possible! If you enjoy your freedom, Thank a Veteran (and a current military person)!

Happy Anniversary Wizard of Oz!

Today is the 71st anniversary of The Wizard of Oz! Last year I went to the "special" movie showing in celebration of the 70th anniversary! It was so much fun, I even wore my "I Love Oz" t-shirt I purchased when I watched Wicked!

In celebration today, Google has it's doodle to include a scene from the movie - so cool! In case you don't see it, the "G" is made using the tree branches and Emerald City is the "L".

This is my favorite all-time movie since I was about 5 years old, so I am always dreaming of MY Oz!
